Very nice! I found some similarly meaty ones rusted to their rods at a coastal defence fort here dating from 1895. Imagine the size of spanner needed!

Actually used my lang for the first time in two years!
As its got a big spindle it was my only machine capable without loads of faffage. 4.75” ht tube needed acme thread.
With tube I prefer to use a 3 jaw then clock in on the four jaw as I find the four jaw is a pita to clock in but not distort the tube when you give a extra squeeze chasing thous

Looks a very similar size to the 4 that hold my press together. Although from recollection they're a smudge smaller at 3" AF. Fantastic quality steel though.
