L200 Upper Tailgate Window

Guys, a bit of a mishap today with my old truck. A stone flicked up off the strimmer and took out the rear window. It's a Max Fiber body, and I can't seem to find anyone who distributes them anymore. The truck is an import, so possibly they were never on sale over here anyhow.

Anybody suggest somewhere I could look for a replacement?

if it is flat, I heard that the RAC glass would cut to shape but don't know this for a fact

I reversed my tractor into a low branch that smashed the rear window. The window was trapezoid shaped and flat, I went to a local glass supplier with a template, they cut the glass and had it toughened, all for £45.

if it's flat glass you want a place that deals in plant ask then who does there glass get a laminated one cut to suit

I've had safety glass cut at local windscreen company just make sure they etch the safety mark on it for mot purposes

Try National windscreens, they have cut glass for me for old cars, old farm machines and a lot more.
Nowt to loose.

Flat glass from local suppliers won't cost more than the original in my Experiance , special one off curved glasses for windscreens etc are also made by a dept of Pilkington glass - more money than a new hardtop mind you for the latter

Local glass supplier should get you a piece cut and annealed to replace it. We got some side windows made for a Land rover and they were BS kite marked as well. When you make your template make sure you leave enough room for the seal if it is a rubber.

How about plexiglass? Bit of a faf but it can be formed with a bit of heat and gravity.

Yeah that's the type of thing - just slightly different! I have found a few that are similar, just nothing exactly the same! I spoke with Autoglass this morning, and they might be able to help. Just waiting for their specialist team to call me back, but I'm not holding my breath!

That plexiglass of Starlet kp's idea isn't a bad one, but it seems to go foggy after a while. If there was something more uv stable I'd have a crack at it. Polycarbonate? Something acrylic maybe?

If there's nothing suitable, I might just cut a sheet of 2mm ally to fit and bide my time till I can get it fixed properly.
