Koken Ratshets

Bought a Koken 1/4" rats cos I couldn't find the snap on one, which obviously turned up when the Koken was delivered. I have broken all the cheapest 1/4" rats I have had my mits on. The Koken is great but. Yep there is a but. It doesn't hold sockets. I wondered if they did repair kits. I tried contacting koken and they never replied.

In what way doesn't it hold sockets? Worn out or from new? Is it the standard series or the zeal?

Never had an issue with them, but with noting the zeal line are designed to work with the zeal sockets for tighter tolerances, but should still work fine with other brands of sockets.

Lots of socket do not have the ball bearing locking groove in them so slide off the ratchet at the first excuse. If my 1/4 ratchet does not undo at a two finger pull I use a " T " bar , occasionally shearing the 1/4 " tang or splitting the socket
I'm still using a right angles screw driver 1/ 4 " socket tool which I purchased with a set of sockets & screw drivers for £6 way back in 1985 . The ratchet it came with had the keeper plate screws , replaced and stud locked in seversl times .

I handed it over to the men's shed guys as I purchased a nice litttle Chinese Temu set for £ 30 or so which has torx , allen , poze & phillips heded sckets as wwll as a decent range of mm sockets going up in 0.5 mm sizes . The ratvchet handle has a nifty socket lock on button to press and release sockets .
