Hi Guys new to all this, but need some help. My Kemppi 2501 has a dial which says KMW timer there is no description of what it does in the manual, just that it is there. Is there anyone with any ideas.
Looking at the brochure it seems to be something to do with a 'push-pull' gun which I expect is Kemppi's description of a spool gun.
If you're just using a normal torch then I doubt it does anything at all. Could be wrong though...I often am!
KMW timer is a timer unit for spot welding and sometimes also incorporates a '2T/4T' trigger latch and possibly a pulse welding function. I believe this was an optional item for some Kempii machines. If the knob has a definate click when turned fully anticlockwise, then this is the 'off' position - i.e. normal welding. Turn it clockwise and the machine should do a progressively longer weld as the dial is turned more clockwise. Spot welding on mig machines is not often used now, as resistance spot welders are quite advanced.
