if your dropping an ally strip in silicone it down . masking tape either side so it doesn't clart all the surface up and pull it offThanks for all the suggestions ,I'm sold on the Ali strip idea , times not really on my side tho as I've got a tennant moving in on fri/sat , I'll have Thursday free tho if I get the other bits and pieces done beforehand ...
Just need to find a nice flat strip ,have the router and bit
What resin would folks suggest ?Araldite ??? Something from toolstation preferably or the colourfill I have already ?
Cheers mike
That’s what I would do. Done properly it will be a repair that lasts for a good few years, especially if you can get a strip of Corian to epoxy in the routed slot. (Of course, the reason it went in the first place is that the sink is too close to the joint, but that is unavoidable in many kitchens).I would route out the damage then fill with epoxy, make a feature out of it.
All mine get a smear of contact adhisive all around pre fitting the joints get sanded then colourfill all over. Not just along the top edge.you will find a lot of fitters do not seal round the exposed edges of joints or the sink or back stands before fitting together then the water gets in and swells the chip board![]()
