I bought this off a friend who's kids had outgrown it. It came with a b+s engine as the original engine was scrap. Problem i found was the b+s engine hadn't enough power to get it moving.
I know little or less about karts, sprocket ratios etc and rather than taking the time to learn, i just went for the obvious man method of putting in the biggest engine i could fit!
Seems to have plenty of poke now, but i'm wondering where i could source and fit one of them remote controls that knock the engine out when you think the kids are going too crash?

On my boys tot rod, powered by Honda GX, I put a cut-out switch on the dash. But a wrist pull-cord one like on MX bikes might be better in panic situations
Think some quads have them too, so another way to hunt for them.

We bought some garage door opener remotes for £33 delivered off eBay. They have two channels and the reciever is basically two relays (one for each channel) that can be connected in any way you want. Seller was garagedoorguru or some such. Obviously the reciever isn't built for off-road use, but for £33 maybe you can spend some time fortifying it.

Can u not limit the accelerator peddle? Then they can only go as fast as u think they can handle

Yep, i got it sorted. There was an adjustment screw on the engine to limit the revs.
Gave it a coat of paint and the kids loved it, muck everywhere!

As for the problem, adjusting the throttle stop is a good start but won't stop them from running into things, they'll won't be going as fast

i bought my two boys the same buggy for xmas about 3 years ago, they used it for about 2 hrs and blew the engine up, the plan was to do somthing like this but its been stuck there in the garage ever since.
im abit too big for it and so are the boys now .

its like new but with no engine ,if any one wants one come and take it FREE

I have to say, an 8hp engine with the throttle opened out makes it go like **** off a shovel! Well worth the effort to convert one, especially if it comes for free

Oops missed that one then. Going for the Astra van field car option, unless someone on here has another buggie with blown engine?
Basically open to any diesel car in north yorks.
