Keyway broach

I need to put a 1/4" keyway into a 19mm bore pulley, could anyone here do this for me? It is going to be a bit of a rush job i'm afraid, like done over a weekend and straight back to me, or I could nip over to yours (if it's not miles away) and bring the pulley. I know it's a bit of an ask but I really don't want to spend fifty quid on a broach and use it once. I am trying to manage the cost so far (cheapskate).

If it's a proper rush job, can you do it manual slotter style in the lathe?

I prolly could, but it has never worked really well for me and 'manual slotting' and rush job don't quite fit in the same sentence.

Same thing I've thought
A piece of HSS shaped into a broach.
Pulley locked in the chuck, and once found the center, move in and out with the carriage and small increments with the cross slide.
If @northwest has a milling machine he can rough out the slot with an end mill and then use the up mentioned procedure to finish it up.

No, so that is something else to consider.

Got a Marlco set here. Likely a 3/4 bush , though, but that may not matter too much.

Does it need to be a complete square for this application? I think you have a mill? I have got stuff going in a hurry before by using a long series slot drill to get the correct width slot with a round top. Then put a couple of grub screws in the side of the pulley or sprocket to keep the key in position. Worked fine.
