Keyed shaft

I'm after a keyed shaft or keyway shaft 400mm long and inch dia. Is this something available from bearing suppliers etc. or am I going to have mill a keyway all the way down myself?
Be great if I could just buy it.

Try your local place that supplies conveyer belt parts and bearings etc. Its called "pre keyed shafting" and over here the industrial suppliers mentioned sell it to standard lengths and diameters.

Some Go kart rear axles are around that diameter and length and are fully keyed to take brakes, sprockets etc. might find one going spare on eBay
