Greetings from a newcomer in Portugal.
Rcently, I bought the above DIY machine (made in China, of course...).
It seems to me that at the lowest potentiometer setting the wire speed
is still too high for the low power settings.
I am using 0.8 mm mild steel wire (DIN 8559; ISO 864); a commercial
shielding gas (probably a mixture of argon and CO2) and the main
parameters of my machine are as follows:
Min. output current: 30 A;
Max. output current: 120 A;
Power setting no.; Open circuit voltage; Minimum wire speed
1 22 V 1.86 m/s
2 26 V 2.52 m/s
3 30 V 3.66 m/s
4 35 V 4.80 m/s
I would appreciate to know about a simple and safe modification of
the machine electronics for a further lowering of the wire speed.
