I recently was given a kitchen aid (I believe that is the name for it) and at that moment I didn't realise what an iconic machine it is, so now I'm even more enthusiastic about it.
It came with a few accessories to make smoothies, different mixers for dough, whipped cream etc. , a thing to sqeeze juice from oranges and a few different rotating grates which are mounted in the cast aluminium housing in this pic
Unfortunately this aluminium is rubbing of black oxide, I think it was anodised when new but that has worn off?
Anybody has an idea for a treatment?
Furtermore it came with what I think is a potato scraper
The gray stuff is like coarse sandpaper so I can imagine it works quite well?
Unfortunately the bottom bearing seems to have failed.
Or maybe the shaft just snapped off and the end was stuck in the bearing but in the process I destroyed the bearing.
I don't expect to be able to buy parts for this(?) but I do think it's worth fabricating them myself.
How old would this be?
Thank you for reading.
P.s. I am rewatching the re-assembler episode.
