Not quite a project yet but it will be kicking off in a couple of weeks.
I’ve got a week at home to gather all materials for and build a dog kennel and run to give the expanding pack of hounds their own space.
Seem to be going round in circles with the design at the moment as most of what turns up in a google search for dog kennel designs is click bait rubbish. I get the feeling that is more and more common on all google searches but anyway, I digress.
Basically what I’m thinking so far;
Buying galv panels from here, https://www.doghealth.co.uk/collect...ts/dog-kennels-runs-galvanised-panels-5cm-gap although there’s a lot of similar suppliers all about the same price. I would like to make my own panels but can’t see that I can compete at that price by the time I’d look at steel, time, coatings. Happy to be advised differently.
Concrete base obviously which will fit the panel dimensions I decide on but at the moment might be something like 3m x 1.5m
It’s the kennel/house part that I’m finding more confusing. Would like to avoid using wood, except for internal framing if required.
Big enough for 3 dogs minimum
It should have some insulation, be easy to clean inside in case its required (some kind of access hatch/door)
If anyone with kennelled dogs could put some photos up and give a bit of advice on what works and what doesn’t I’d be much obliged.
The only thing I came across on here is the thread below, If I could come up with something close to that standard I’d be very pleased.
