Hi, Cromwell are doing this torch for £33, is it worth a punt or a waste of money?

How did you find the quality Gordon? Not a brand I know.I bought a load of them from Cromwell last year, I had called in to their Stockton depot just for a look round, to see if anything usful was on offer, Spotted on the clearance deals those same torches, they were £13=00 + vat, so bought what they had in stock and got 12 of them, Sold a few to mates at cost and flogged the rest, Don't know why they were selling them off so cheap because they continued to be a stock item.
You shouldn't need to make or buy anything. Strip the nasty cheap RTech torch of all it's fittings and put them straight on the new.Cheers Richard, it certainly seems a bit nicer to hold than the 26 size torch that R-Tech supplied. I think the amphenol connector will be easy enough to change, the pins on the plug to use is 1&2 and the torch switch only has 2 wires. The dinze connector is too small though so that needs changing & the gas connection on the front of my machine is just a hose tail so need to make a threaded fitting on their.
My machine is AC & DC so will keep an eye on the current settings, it's max is 160 amps but I doubt I will be using that many amps for most stuff.
But then how will Scott hammer his nails in?You shouldn't need to make or buy anything. Strip the nasty cheap RTech torch of all it's fittings and put them straight on the new.

That will still work without a dinsBut then how will Scott hammer his nails in?

What, just drop it from six inches and let gravity do the rest? That will still work without a dins![]()
