Hi
This site is excellent.
Hope someone can help - I need advice.
I'm a stained glass artist and want to make some wrought iron frames/stands for some of my designs. In the near future I would also like to be able to learn more about welding and be able to make gates, railings etc.
Screwfix are selling the above machine for ₤199. Unfortunately, the product description and a call to their techinical support team have been a complete waste of time as they "can't provide any info about the product in case it does not meet my needs!!".
Does anyone know anything about this product? Will a 150A product be suitable for what i need it to do? Can anyone recommend anything/supply details for something that is suitable?

. Sorry to say those Kende migs aren't worth bothering with, they have a low setting of 60A which is the highest I've ever come across and the 150A top end won't really be enough for gates and railings. Unfortunately, £200 won't be enough to get you something suitable, you will need to pretty much double your budget and maybe add a bit more to get something around 180A or more. It's waste of time asking someone like screwfix of machinemart about product suitability, to quote a well used term by our resident welding equipment supplier they are purely 'box movers'. Have a look around for something with a range of 30-180a or even 200 or 220 if you can and post a few ideas. We can then advise you a bit better.
