Thanks............I would prefer more response to be honest. Very pleased with MLS, the only thing I didnt like though was OE torch, which has been replaced with WP20 type, but will get a Speedway some time in the future. I have a Speedway on my old transformer, which seems very good indeed, and will at some stage be getting an SW320 for the MLS (WP20 size but handles 320amps).

I've actually grown fairly fond of the standard type torch. Yes the boxy square handgrip was a bit cumbersome at first but I've got the two slides set up in a way that I find very comfortable to hold. More flex in the cable would be nice but with water pipes going in that's always going to be a bit of a hinderence. I won't be rushing out to replace it now as I get on just fine with it round the intricate jobs. Stubby gas lens kit has made all the difference too.

I think I could live with torch shape after a while, and some playing around with the slides a bit. The inflexible cables (which I guess are vinyl?) though I couldnt put up with, as they make a torch feel very cumbersome when you have used one with flex lines.

Try a Weldtec Roto-Head torch Chris, same cables and sheath as a Speedway but the rotating head lends itself so well to the kind of work you'll be doing with it. 250 amp at 100% is lower than a Speedway but that's due to the fact it's only watercooled as far as the neck. But it's higher than your set goes by a decent margin.

Weldtec are simply lovely looking torches. The cost of them is frightening but I would love to try one. Saying that I just know I'd buy one if I did.

They aren't any dearer than most top line manufacturers genuine torches. They'd be a lot cheaper if I could find a way of getting my hands on them direct but the rout to the UK is via a sole importer and he knows he's got a quality product and little other competition.

The Speedway SW320 isnt a lot more bought direct from the US, than the closest CK to it bought here in the UK. Think it was maybe £20-30?
