i always cheat by using the auto settings on my miniarc
on the manual mode what settings would you use for 2.5mm steel

There's no cheating in using the auto settings.......that's what there for....to make it easier.

If i use mine in manual it's only after setting it in auto first then changing straight to manual and slightly adjusting it from that point.....if that makes any sense.

Saying that you can trim in even in auto mode can't you?

Yes you can but with a more limited range of adjustments.

I have found that the auto settings are pretty well spot on for most things.

The auto settings work for me, you just have to weld faster to keep up with them I use the arc trimmer when I have set the thickness.
