Keeping SS Pickle paste

This stuff is quite hectic, so I would like some tips to keep it. I thought of having a bag of lime in a container alongside the bottle of paste. This container can then be stored in a safe place. Will this limit the corrosive shtuff emitted by even a closed container? I would think so. I heard that the closet used to store the pickle paste becomes a rust closet with all the tools etc in the closet going to the sharks.

Yikes...

Never gave it a second thought, just been into the workshop, and the draw in one of my tool cabinets I have kept it in for the last few months has started to rust, but the passivated nuts and bolts in the same tray. so far look to be OK.

The prob is you think the lid will close off well, and it does. But the HF gas seeps through any porous material (such as the plastic container) and goes to work on whatever is available.

I really think a double container system with the second container holding some lime or some other soda will do the job.

Oh Im well aware of Plastic containers bleeding. The Tanks on MotoX bikes bleed Petrol vapours out, ******ing up your stickers.
The Plastic Gallon container I bought my Nitro fuel in for my RC car, leaks like a sieve.

It not like I didn't know plastic is porous

Oh, I was not insinuating that you did not know, but many people consider a plastic tank to be air tight. Petrol tanks often have an exhaust, so for them it is slightly different. In any case, storing in a double container with some soda in the outer container looks like a sensible move. We agree on that one in any case!
