just wondering

i have to replace the gas struts on my dads old car boot door, it has ball joints on both ends that ar made of some grade of steel ,just wondering do they pull apart with the aid of geoff capes or im i just feeling weak.

Most have some clip that you pull out or slide back.

The clips are cleverly hidden
