Just upgraded my chopsaw

After alot of do I don't I days I took the plunge and brought myself a big compound miter saw. I've used several of the evolution saws for work and thought this would be a good option for at home as it can obviously cut wood but also can cut steel.
Has anyone on here got one and how do you find blade last when using with steel?

I've spent part of today cutting up a 5.9m strip of 10mm x 60mm into 200mm lengths for welding coupons with my evo saw. It's a very efficient tool for this job.

I use mine occasionally for wood, old pallets and bits of steel. I go carefully with blade and I'm still on the original. Had it a few years.

Still got a couple of metres to go. Millscale needs removing too. You need a full face shield and also cover your arms. Hot chips spring everywhere. I had hoovered up before this picture was taken. I am still picking bits of metal out of my hair.

I have several old speaker magnets in heavy-duty freezer bags strategically placed around my De Walt chop saw, they catch most of the chips.

You also need hearing protection. I recommend goggles under the face shield. The chips are hot, fast and very sneaky.

Have you been using any cutting fluid with it?

Never used cutting fluid. I just make sure the blade is at full speed before I cut so it doesn't labour. With the steel strip today I cut through it from the front rather than cut through the top. More of a ripping than a chopping action.
