it just opens up so many doors - been making the mounting tags for the xj650 sidepanels today, finally finished them, just need to polish them now. ( I welded them with slivers of the base sheet, will know if there is a cast later...)
Before packing in for the day I had a second look at the clutch lever - I'd fitted one from a 900 if I recall - best fit I could get,but not ideal. So I had another look at the original maxim one, the problem with it was the mirror mount lug canted over to fit on the crazy handlebars it had. So I cut the lug off! Machined up a new one and tigged it on - now needs tapping m10 and hopefully will look ok. Without the little 200A Selco this would all have been impossible.
