Sounds great, right? Problem is (along with needing to be dragged out in the street and shot) the regulators I bought don't fit the tanks I need to use, (small tanks about 2 feet tall) the nuts on the regs. that screw into the tanks are WAY too big. So I guess my question is: is there any sort of adapter that can be used? I kinda doubt it, but I nearly cleaned myself out buying the things, now I find that they're useless...any help would be greatly appreciated.

but in any event, can you get small tanks to use with the large regulator nuts?I have never heard of any kind of adaptors.
The point I was trying to make is, and assuming that the UK follows EU standard, you have probably got the wrong regulators for the gas that you are using. For MIG plants, there are two basic types, that fit directly to the correct bottle, irrespective of its size.
It sounds to me like you should swap for the other one. But, maybe its different out here in Europe.

Cogger you are in the US right? Well in the US the cylinder fittings are TOTALLY different to the ones we use in the UK, don't ask me why but they are. In the UK we use FEMALE gas cylinder valves - right hand thread for Oxygen & Inert gases, left hand thread for flammable/fuel gases. In the US you have a male threaded cylinder valve (the same as we use for CO2) right?
Well, just to confuse even further, Brussels has decided that they will use different again! So, the European Union is NOT & America is different again - great!!
