Quiet in comparison to a paslode through. :I've got the Dewalt. Quite noisey though (so my neighbours tell me) . I was wearing ear protectors so didn't notice

I’d like a de Walt just to avoid having to tuck cold cylinders down my trousers on cold days

Been there done that.
Bump mode is handy as well.
Hold the trigger and keep the flywheel spun up and bash to nail.
Good to pause for a second or two inbetween firing to let it speed up.
Very handy when nailing boards to walls/floors.

I got my first im350 around about 92 long since gone (stolen) currently have two my go to gun is from 98 which is a bit like Triggers brush, and another bought second hand a few years ago it's an orange nose but was like new when I got it.
The older one hadn't had a copy nail through it until around 2 years ago when I was sub-contracting and the materials were supplied typically firmahold, rawl, and some other junk I can't remember. The copy nails are much cheaper but sometimes don't like to drive in as well as the paslode nails. Tried them with proper gas with no noticeable difference, also find that the dosage valves are of questionable quality.
Can't get away with the spring type guns the ones I tried were heavy like the Hilti, don't know if they have improved as of late but the last one I had hold of was NiCad battery.
Suppose its stick with what you know and/or if it isn't broke don't fix it or your not trying hard enough to break it.
If it's too cold for the gas to work then it's too cold for me to work or I want more money.

The Dewalts aren't sprung mate. Well. They have a return spring to draw the hammer back.
From my understanding its a big flywheel spinning and when you bump/pull trigger it's pushed into the hammer driving the nail out.
Shown here. Took a bit of searching to find a video showing how. Minute or so in.
Mines 2 years old now. Haven't done anything to it other than bang nails in. Seemed to be forever messing with the paslodes especially when used sporadically.

they look simple and easy to use
...in all fairness regarding the Paslode and reliability,i strip and clean mine religiously every other weekend and replace the top and bottom O rings every box of nails and dont have an once of trouble..The trouble begins when you start lending them out and i never do and tell people who ask "would you lend me your Colt pistol if you were a cowboy in dodge city" its the type of tool that works best with one man and that being its owner.

Since you recommended Bulldog a while back after i got my Dewalt nailer kit i can honestly say most of my mates have started ordering from them, So we do a bulk order between 6 of us and all put in 20% each... NIce bunch of lads but not good at maths
