Judge my welding please

Hi everyone pictures are of my first welds, I'm using a draper mig with argon universal, first pic my wire speed was too low but found on the hinge pin weld it came out alot better and almost no spatter.
what do you guys think?

Not bad at all for first attempts!

The left hand side of the hinge pin plate it looks as though you missed the plate and have laid a bead just on the metal underneath, the right hand side bit of welding looks better though, better ain as though you have managed to join the two pieces.

Next, try butt- welding two pieces of 0.9mm steel together! Tack weld the pieces then use the thin metal (overlapped pulse then let cool for a second) technique.

Thanks for the comment. The left hand side didn't sit flush and I see what your saying. If you haven't guessed I'm making a wood burner for the garden lol. I will try thinner metal once I have this project out the way. I will also post some more pictures when I have had another play.
