I have at last got someone f/t again,been advertising on fb,indeed and word of mouth.
2 lads left in the summer,so just had some p/ t,help since,best thing is the new lad works for a charity that we give free use of our riverbank,for their canoe landings,so he’s also been helping me casually,I offered him a position in September,which he dithered over ,then declined,but still came weekends,since then he’s decided to get back to fabrication and accepted my offer and starts after Christmas,best news I’ve had lately.

Coincidentally Dave the sparky was at mine yesterday,fitting extra lighting,I always call him Dave domestic,as when I first knew him he repaired domestic appliances,and I already had two other Dave friends.

I used to work in printing (as some may know).
On the litho presses, there are three men to a team to run one machine.
One place I worked had a three shift pattern: so nine blokes on the one machine.
ALL of them were named Dave.
The foreman of no.2 shift retired, so they employed someone else - "peter", from a sister factory.

first shift:
"what's your name?"
"everyone at the last place called me 'Pete', but my real name's Dave".

Must be fake - the Marketing Manager has dirt on his uniform - he wouldn't be seen dead in a company uniform, and certainly not one in the blue of workers . . . 3 piece suit bought on expenses is much more likely!
