Specialist Welding Services are looking for reliable, honest, hard working individuals to join our fish farm cage assembling team at Scale AQ's Arnish site for current and upcoming projects.
Whilst this opportunity offers short term ie 2-4 months there is a possibility of longer term employment, contracts pending.
Telescopic forklift experience preferable, but not essential as all training will be given.

Yes.
The Amish place I buy my steel sheeting from had a local
Amish fabricator on site modifying a etrailer to roll off the orders.
I picked up one of his business cards.

His rig included a nice Miller portable with suitcase MIG, a DoAll bandsaw on a pallet modified
with a 6 hp Honda engine to run it.
All set in a cargo trailer, they pay the "english" to haul around for them.

I was in my LWS a few years back, and there was a 1 ton truck with fuel tank in back (typical digging contractor).
I go inside and see a grubby looking guy at the counter with a young Amish kid (no beard yet) talking about buying a nice Miller Inverter TIG unit. The truck guy was the Amish kid's "English" ride, they pay regular people to drive them around.

I thought the guy was buying the welder, but no, the kid pulls out a wad of cash (Amish like cash BTW)
and specifies he wanted not the footpedal but rather the newer hand amptrol with the "tank track" thing.
The kind you roll your thumb along to go up/down.

I held back, but wanted to ask "Just exactly where do you plug this inverter into a horse ?"

They like Honda branded generators as they are reliable, and quiet.

No, Arnish as in just outside Stornoway, Isle of Lewis. Busy place these days with a new deep water port for cruise ships alongside Harland and Wolff as your neighbors.

I was in Lancaster County (the Pennsylvania one) a while ago, where an obviously Amish bloke had a four horse team pulling an implement which was reaping a crop. The reaper was powered by a fair sized Briggs or Honda motor. The 'halfway house' of mechanisation looked really weird.

The Amish farms really stick out against the 'ordinary' ones; not just the 'buggies ' parked up and the many horses. Small fields, massive wood pile in the farmyard, usually with someone cutting or splitting more wood.
