Jei minibeast magnet drill

Hi guys, i bought the said JEI minibeast magnet drill, i was really after a BDS Machinen mag drill but their pricing is eye wattering, although their 5" cutting capability is something to behold! So far the little Jei looks promising, its only 10kg and runs on 110v... Its brand new and came with 2 unused rotabroach cutters new in the box. I havent used as yet, i have a steel plate to drill next week and really look forward to see how it does... I paid a very good price for it so i hope it will live to the chalenge and doesnt dissapoint me!

Got 5 of these drills in my shop the guys love them to the rotabraoch panther which are rubbish only problem the jei is the button will pop and need replaced time to time

It wont be used too much, i do hope it will live a long happy life! It was either this or a pillar drill, however i think the mag drill its a very versatile tool! I will get back to you with the results....

They do some anular cutters that do just that and leave a nice slug useful for capping end pipes or making feet for tables and stands, etc.

Ive got the minibeast , it works very well , much smaller than the Rotabroach I bought ! i was drilling 20mm plate with 22mm bit , plenty of oil worked fine !

I took it out of The box yesterday morning, looks well made and has plenty torque. Didn’t drill with it nothing yet as I was busy doing a timing belt on a VW Tiguan but first impressions are good... will try drilling with it soon, I am making a welding table and the plate needs a few holes drilling into it ! Cheers for your impressions...

i have one . it came out of a skip as it made a horrible noise . the new bearing cost £5 and i guess it has done over 2000 holes by now. it will do 22mm holes but is not keen and can struggle if the plate is over 15mm thick, i don't worry on thicker stuff as i will just get out my big matron 100. that copes with anything. all round it is a good drill and i like it .

What is wrong with the Panther? I love mine. A mate bought an Evo drill and ended up taking it back as the runout was awful.
