Hi all,has any here had any experience with a jasic mig welder.I got a new one at work a couple of months ago,the settings are pretty basic except for the anti splatter switch.When Im welding sheet metal(0.8 wall thickness)its a great welder,I turn the anti splatter switch to 1 or 2 and the weld seam is perfect.But when I set the welder for heavier run of weld(30mm flange on a 10mm pipe,wall thickness)the splatter is out of control no matter what setting the any splatter switch is at.Can anyone help??

The gas we use is a 5% mix and all the fitted pieces are 100% clean.I cornered the sales rep for jasic a couple of weeks ago who says he demos these machines all over the country.I held the torch and he set the machine for about an hour as i done many runs of weld and when that was done he said the gas/wire/steel was wrong.Don,t get me wrong I think its a good machine but I could do without the excess splatter.

What's splatter and what is an anti splatter switch ? Put a picture of the welder front panel up and someone might come up with some settings. Does it run gas and gasless ?

I would assume that going from 0.8 to 10/30 mm there would have been a change in wire (0.6/0.8 up to 1.0/ 1.2 ?) so could there have been an issue with wire, guessing the two were different brands. There have been various post about quality of wire inc indications that few are made by the people who put there label on them !

I guess that the anti spatter switch changes the inductance, same has having two or 3 return cable sockets to choose from with different inductance values.

Super 6 is super inconsistent. Try a better coil of wire.may not fix the problem but for 20 quid....
