Is this to take interchangeable heads?

I don't know where the rest of it is, came with my lathe. Taper on the end could be Jacobs?

can't get any jacobs chucks apart to test the taper, but yes i did think that myself

Wallop one off a drill press ? I ground up an old Whitworth oj spanner to make a key/wedge to get mine off. Off to have a peek in my mancupboard ... TTFN


Back with nipples like chapel hat pegs .. icy rain & me in a tee shirt do not go well ..... I have an SDS hammer chuck , thought it was the dead Jacobs off my drill press , all it needed was grinding true as it's 36 yrars old and has worn a litle so I can't put 0,5 mm drills in it any more .

theres about 3 diffrent size jacobs tapers / which one is it

Right i've just got one apart and can confirm it's not JT6 or JT33 taper

If you can sort out the taper, that will be a great adaptive tool for different work

Looks like a B16 taper
