Actually Jeeps have snorkel lines from the vent plugs of the transmission, transfer case, differentials etc that run to the top of the firewall.

I would expect no leaks, other then the normal engine leaks (that 4.0 6-cyl is famous for rear seal leaks.)

Don't know how much I would trust working next to it

Thats the one, actualy it looks like an old pug pickup in which case it may well be somewhere like North Africa. A French friend of mine who has a market stall selling ethnic stuff does regular trips in winter to Morroco/algeria etc buying stock, last time he was there he had all the dents knocked out of his van and a full respray, they did a fantastic job and it cost him next to nothing. Great craftsmen if a little short on Health and Safety training!
