Alright, I'm going to buy the welder today. I hit the welding store to ask some questions, instead of just hitting up home depot and trying my luck with just looking at the boxes.
The gentleman behind the counter pointed me in the direction of the Hobart Handler 140. I told him what I had found at Home Depot with the Lincoln 3200 [SP135T], and he said they were pretty much equal, except the Hobart was built using Miller parts, has 25-140amps, as opposed to the 25-135 the Lincoln had, and it had a much better warrenty. They both come with the gas line, and dual gauge regulator, built in solenoid valve, etc.
Lincoln = 3 year on the machine, and 90 days on the gun - and i'd have to send it back to lincoln myself, and wait and wait.
Hobart = 5 year on transformers, stabilizers, and generators, 3 years on electronics.. drive motors, rectifiers, etc. and 1 year on the miller gun it comes with. I can bring it back to the store i bought it from, and they will fix it right there.
Does anyone have any comments on which one would be better? The guy said that Hobart wasnt the best in the past, but ever since miller bought them, and started using their parts, the quality has increased exponentially.
If i dont get a reply within like.. 2 hours, i'll be heading up to the store to buy the Hobart, as it seems to be a better buy overall.
