I am new here and glad that there is a place for discussion on this handcraft profession. Just to represent myself - i own a small company for construction/mining machinery servicing and maintenance. We mostly work on the machines for disassmbly repair and assembly of transmission, hydraulic and power units and not too much on the body/chassis.
This is pretty tricky job where often the "standart" method of working is not an option. For example sometimes we need to make the tools we have to use by ourselves. There are a lot of cases that we need to weld or machine some metal parts etc.
This is pushing us to have variety of equipment to help us do our job. For sure the welding machine is something pretty standart for us and we use some MMA machines, (150-220A). We need MIG/MMA (multiprocess) machine and i prefer 1 phase 220V up to 200A machine because not allways 3ph is available or the genset is hard to go with us.
I would like to have mobile MIG/MAG welder that is suitable for taking it with us when needed. We are going to weld about 6-8mm steel max rarely 10mm.
I made a research, but the high end machines are out of the budget. I took a look on the chinese inverters ( most "Polish" ones Sherman, Spartus...etc.)
I found in a local store DECA JOB 220 LAB synergic machine for about 1k £ and i am not sure if it is real italian or some Chinese rebranded unit. It is a hair more expensive than the chinese ones. For example Sherman DIGIMIG 200 Pulse is one of the Polish ones i looked after.
The machines i mention here are just to have an idea what i am looking for. Any other recomandations are welcome.
Please if any of you have used such kind of machine advice if it was good or not.
