Issue with new Rottabroach commando 40

Hi just got a Rottabroach commando 40 mag drill..

Big issue.. probably me missing something obv but I can’t raise or lower the column ? I can switch the magnet on etc but the three lever handle will not move and that’s straight out of the box? I’ve looked for a locking device or bolt but nothing found.. thought it might be locked for transport purposes .. read the poor instructions over and over but nothing there either... I have not ran the motor at all for fear of damage, I’ve just switched the magnet on... the chuck is still in the box.. any ideas?

Are the grub screws which adjust the gib strips too tight?

mine was a bit stiff to start with , put magnet on and push the handle down should move !

Well it certainly won’t go down anymore as the arbor is flush to the base of the magnet.. I will have to search for the grub screws..

Noods you should find a pair of brass v's or similar down each side, normally screws to set tension. Often stiff at first until it all beds down a little oil on slides will help.

Well done and thanks lads one and all.. this morning I removed the guard so I could see better sprayed some WD in there and with firm effort applied with magnet on we are all good...
