Assuming CNMG inserts are classed as carbide (as against HSS) I'm getting turning speed of 800 - 885 fpm for EN3B which gives me 1946 rpm for 40mm (1.57") round bar, now my lathe will only do 1000 rpm max and I'm not that keen on running at that speed.
Is this right and if so what sort of longitudinal feed should I be using?
More used to caste iron and brass where I can get good finishes, but not with EN3b.
