I am thinking of welding a bolt onto my fork links of my lambretta which it doesnt have as the one in the pic below. I need to have one as it needs dampers fitting now i have a hydraulic brake kit.
The part that is protruding is picture better in the pic on the left, its like a M3/m4 max screw that the damper fits onto then screw up inside the forks.
The metal is alloy with perhaps some zinc. But mine (not in pic) look more like mild steel.
Either way can i use mig with argon/ca2 and weld a bold to it? would it be sturdy enough will the alloy take? Also any ideas on starting settings (clarke 135te gas) after all it will only be the head of the bolt welding into a recess that i make by drilling methinks.
thanks in advance guys
