Same pattern still in use in many places though the army now has plastic ones![]()
I have 5, they all have date of manufacture on them.
I would sell that one, because of the date.
Nope I think to remember that original oldest jarrycan used to have not this type of cap ,so I think that could be not as old as we might thinkId have a guess at around 1943
You mean loads of wartime ones?I had some....couldnt sell them......they want the insides to be pristine (shouldnt have been a surprise but I thought they were just for show).....gave them away in the end.........there are loads out there
yes.......I bought some from a boat auction but I didnt know what they were like inside....you cant see it all.....if you cant guarantee clenliness, freedom from rust, they dont want them....I mean you wouldnt want to fill a rusty can with petrol. You mean loads of wartime ones?
Try it.......I might have been unlucky....and it was a few years ago....things change......have a look on ebayAh ok then. Still, seems a shame to cut something up that’s survived 77 years and a world war.
Maybe I’ll just keep it, it must be worth something at some point!
