C spanner will locate into the slot and allow it to be undone.
There will be a fine thread on the head nut and it will be murder tight.
If it was mine, working and not leaking I would leave it.

If there's no sign of a joint between the neckbush and cylinder tube, the wiper seal (which is missing the rubber part) looks to be of the metal encased type, try gentle removing the metal casing...
On cheap rams sometimes you have to remove the wiper seal which then reveals a spring ring, the neckbush is then tapped gently into the tube, the spring ring is remove to allow removal of the neckbush/rod assembly.

We have near me a range of companies who do hydraulics and services along those lines.
I have used a few and to be honest they have beat Pirtec on price, but never service. Ok I deal with my local place and have done for years.
Pirtec even had German and Russian fitting son their parts list and got them in.
Ok not cheep, but reliable.
There's no doubt they do a good job and probably 80% of their work is businesses who need a machine back running 2hrs a go. In that senario £200 for hose repair is irrelevant.
As each is a franchise they do vary, we used to collect our parts from Pirtek in Gloucester, it is sideline some of the depots do. I got a good deal on some Pirtek air hose by buying a full roll. It's the best air hose I've ever used.

They do a bit. I make up my own hoses, the pipe/fittings are really cheap and take less time to make up than it takes to raise an invoice/take payment at the shop.Typically a 1/2" hose two meters long with ends that costs me less than £15 all in is about £90 + vat from them, the only time we use them is if we are too far away and need it quickly.
