I think it is.£400 for 2 days labour shirley is taking the p*ss.
tops is wood @ 6mtrs x 600mm wide(that the measurements I've taken off our tops so no room for mistake!)

Materials : £650.00

Labour : £400.00

Total : £1050.00

Work will take 2 days and all rubbish will be removed

Two days for two people = not a lot if you include other overheads - transport, tools, incidentals (sealant/router bits/jigs), liability insurance
tipping fees might add up to £50+

it's not HORRENDOUSLY expensive. (IMO)

I think its a fair price tbh. I was earning 200 a day for joinery work several years ago.
And muck away ! very fair.

all of it.
never had any one do the job before as I did it all myself with my son but that is going back a bit(about 15 years ago).
so I don't know whether its cheap or not.
I dont want to pay him only to find out that I got ripped off.
I know the lad,he has done our bath room and did a good job too.
he does do quality work.

So he is a known good worker who you have used before and you were happy with the bathroom, perhaps he has lots of referals from other happy customers someone in that position can charge a bit more and still not be short of work.

Depends on the worktop, sink, number of joints, number of ends...

400 notes for labour, overheads.... For 2 days if 2 men is cheap if he can do the job properly

Work on 50 per... worktop, join, end and cutout, same for replumbing

If you think it's too much and you can do the job yourself, I would do it yourself because you'll always think you have been done.
I only pay for jobs that I can't do and go banana's if the job is done and I know I could have done better myself.

if he gets a plumber in to do the wet work that might cost him £60 or more?

i dont know about the prices around you but id call that cheap chippys plumbers etc.. are 160 to 200euro a day each so £400 converting to 546euro is cheap

its what the wife wants,I said that to to her.
so she is thinking of white.
anyway I've ask him to come round as I some more work done.
if it was left to me I'd replace the whole lot tiles inc but wife doesn't want all the upheaval and mess.

I know but if you say that to an employer you ain't getting any work at i have in the past worked for a lot less kids still need feeding so i never turned my nose up at any work thats what i had to do and thats what i did

I think labour costs are reasonable as old sink and tops will have to be removed without damaging splash back which I assume is tiled. Then cut and fit new tops which isn't always the easiest to do with splash back tiles getting in the way.

My neighbor, a handy man in the village charges £55 a joint on work tops if not fitting a whole new kitchen, he says he can make that in a day if things are simple enough

If you know the bloke and happy with his work then go for it
