Ford gearstick assembly aluminium alloy housing.
The original housing is worn, distorted and split on the top rectangular section and the lower support bracket is split where it joins the horizontal section. A replacement, secondhand housing has just done me for £75 plus VAT so clearly it must actually be some sort of Platinum / gold alloy.

I wonder, would a Tig welded repair be successful on this original unit and are there any offers please, to do so at reasonable (low) cost?
