For a long time wood screw diameters were described as 6, 8, 10, 12 etc.
In the Toolstation catalogue for example, most of the diameters for wood screws are now given in mm.
When the box is brought to the counter, both methods of sizing are usually on the end of the box.See photo
Of course, this does not help much when browsing through the catalogue at home.
Maybe there is a chart online- anyone know?
