is my free mig ok to learn with?

Hi all,

I'm a complete novice wanting to learn to mig weld I have read many posts and suggestions on which welder to go for and I'm looking around the 300 mark. My question is I have a beaten up maypole 520 which could use a bit of luv but, how would it fair as an initial learning tool, its going to be a few month before I can afford anythingproper and I want to get stuck in.

I'm learning with an old Clarke 90 that has been sat in a garage for numerous year.
After a bit of a clean up it seems to be working well for me. And anything I buy for this ie regulators, will just be carried to my next rig.
