just go to any signs and plastic shops they will have small pieces in the binLED torches are as cheap as chips now. (not so when they are designed to fit cycles). I want to make one or two red lenses for rear facing LED cycle lamps (torches).

Maybe i've missed the point but as well as the wide angle thing already mentioned bike specific lights are also water resistant (rubber seal etc) and while home made lights wouldn't come close to exonerating an idiot in a car punting you off having lights that meet BS6102 might make a difference to lawyers? Given the £1.02 source posted and this one for a fiver delivered to your door complete with batteries i don't get it
