is it ok to use the disposable mig gas bottles lying on there side?

I have strapped my disposable argon/co2 bottle on it's side to the handle on my welder as it's a real pain having it next to it as it always falls over and you need 2 hands to carry it all. Is it ok to use it like this? I used it today and it seemed ok-but it says to keep it upright on the bottle?

Ar/co2 should be alright as it's a compressed gas mix. Neat co2 might freeze the regulator.

CO2 is usually a liquid and the bottle should be upright.
