is it a good buy

hi folks i have been offered a migatronic pilot 2000 ac/dc complete with leads regulator etc, for £600 and was basicly lucking for any advice regarding
is this a good buy if working good, or are there any reliability issues,
also is this a machine that spares or service is easly available.

Just read that thread and it answers a lot of questions I had about the failure of my pilot machine and it being beyond economic repair. Cracking tool for the short time that it did work though! must have got at least two hours actual welding out of it.

thanks for that link, it has made me a bit paronoid now, perhaps a new machine may be the way to go, with a decent warrenty.

new is often best if you can afford to but will be costly for a AC/DC TIG

That model seems to have a lot of reliability issues even though migatronic would be a fairly decent brand did you buy it new or secondhand Benji I came across that thread when I was doing a bit of research before buying my own inverter as I also had dreams of getting really good machine for chips

i thought that was the pilot 200 that was dodgy, not the pilot 2000 ?
