Hi.
Quite new to this welding game but i want to buy a Tig that i know works from the start and dont want to inherit faults caused by previous owners so looking for a new one.
Had a look at an Oerlikon 1500 ac/dc recently for £1293 inclusive. Appears to have the requisite bells and whistles to keep me (novice) occupied for a while, plus has two years warranty.
It's 230v single phase. 5-150a
Duty cycle at 35% - 150a, 60% - 100a, 100% - 80a. Is this good?
To be used initially for my own projects welding m&s steel and occasionally ally but with the intention of offering my services at a later date when i master it.
Items to weld will be motorcycle and cycle frames, m/cycle fuel tanks, horsebox repairs, car bodywork and boxes made from ally chequer plate.
So is this the Tig for me, or can anyone offer some good advice regarding alternative models. Don't want to go as high as £2000 but want to try and future proof my purchase and not be left needing to buy again.
Regards
