i'am using a hot wire t.i.g. process for overlaying stainless steel onto carbon steel.
3 passes of weld to be machined back to leave 3mm thickness of stainless steel.
i am using
4mm tungsten
280 amps peak
196 amps background
0.2 sec pulse on both peak and background
3.8 m/min wire feed
325 mm/min travel speed
50/50 mix argon/helium gas
i am having trouble with the iron dilution and would like to get it down to about 5%
has any one come across this problem with the dilution
