Irish car reg check?

Is there a way to check the mot history / mileage records of a car with Irish plates?
The boy wants to look at a Mazda 3 but the UK mot check only shows two years worth. I dont want to buy a clocked car!

No idea how, but it'll be easier to buy a proper uk car than mess around with re-registering and insurance hassles, there must be hundreds of Mazda's for sale out there.

mot history does not show on NI reg vehicles like it does on English MOT searches ,, system is different here .

I think you can still phone up the DVA (Coleraine) and check the history of the mileage record?

your doing well if you get anyone to speak to at all these days ,,, but worth a go

OK so that's pre MDARS. You can read the mileage from the Body Control Module via the ODB2 port. If that doesn't tally with what's on the cluster then it's been fiddled with.

The boy has put a refundable deposit on one from somewhere else now, I'm in the Alps so have nothing to do with it

I chopped in my Mazda 3 at 19 years old. It only ever needed consumables in all that time. So I got another newer one as a replacement.
