Internal or straight grinding wheels

Hi All,

Does anyone know where I can buy internal grinding wheels, about 50mm dia X 10 thick, with a 6mm
hole for a separate arbor?

I bought a dozen years ago through work but the factory closed and I've no idea where they came from.
They were brown in colour and cut through steel like a dream. Ideal for cleaning up flame or plasma
cut holes that are too small for a 115mm grinder.

I used to take consumables for granted but should have known that one day I'd be self employed
and need to know where to buy all that stuff.

The factory where I work is closing down and they are scrapping hundreds of grinding wheels all brand new including some big ones which allegedly cost over a grand each, but they won't sell them on because of health and safety grounds. But we've been told if anything takes your eye have it. I'm going to take a tape in tomorrow to measure up a steel cabinet so I'll give the grinding wheels a look and let you know The arbour size my be a problem I think most are bigger than that. Won't cost you anything apart from postage.

Arbours are not a problem. I can buy or make them.

I did look at Moleroda Hugh. I could only see polishing stuff.

pbr abrasives are who i use for all our abrasives at work, what they dont have/cant get isnt worth having in my experience......

I've had a nose at the wheels, most have a 12.7mm bore and a couple have a 9mm bore, some have a stepped bore, diameters range from about 40 to 50/55. They are all longer than 10mm though I think the shortest was about 50mm long, all used for bore grinding on gears.

Cheers for looking anyway Jez. If they'r too heavy my DeWalt will struggle.

I will look at PBR Sasquar. It seems like Dorset is the capitol of grinders.

im not sure what their website is like, to be honest, i just phone them, give them a terrible description of what i need and the next day, exactly what i want turns up. You probably end up speaking to either Paula or Iris, both of whom are brilliant.........
