I recently found out from the wife that every time I used my R tech 160 Dc tig welder on the garage bench the house computer screen flashes off for a moment or two. It is directly behind the welder in the kitchen /dining room through the cavity wall.
They are both wired into the same ring main with the sockets almost back to back. I tried running an extension lead from the other end of the garage to run the welder (still on the same circuit) and was told that it was okay now
so I ran a dedicated 6mm welding supply right across the house directly from the consumer unit and wasn't best pleased to be told that the problem was still happening?
I am now turning the computer off before I do any Tig welding as I don't want to risk wrecking the computer
Is the interference is airborne?
Thanks
Pete
