ive got a project where there will be extensive masking and airbrushing over the basecoat. I won't get this done in the re coat window for the basecoat. House of Kolor do a product called inter coat to seal airbrushing. Is there a similar product I could use ? Or should I just put a coat of 2k clear over it and put graphics over this keyed up ?

Though ive never tried it, i imagine the intercoat is just a clear coat and probably 1k so unstable? For the best protection of your adhesion and artwork, I would flick a coat of 2k clear on and flat it back to build up your graphics.

I have never used intercoat, I use 2pack clear. I think intercoat clear is basecoat binder,
I did get some ici basecoatr binder to try, but I forgot about it and carried on using 2K clear.
I activate basecoat and I use basecoat for graphics. Activated basecoat is harder,
sticks much better and has a longer overcoat window.

I tried intercoat once and never again, as its a 1k product it stays soft, sinks and adhesion is nothing like 2k clear.
A friend of mine did a flake job and used intercoat as the flake carrier as suggested by HOK, it sank badly and came off in sheets after a few months, enough said !!!
