Without winding the clock back (or maybe some sort of cull?) I don't see an actual solution though - let's face it, it's not like any real enforcement is going to happen...

They don't build real bike lanes any more...land costs too much..

When I was 13 (early 80's) I used to regularly pushbike 6 miles from Langford to Sandy to do a part time job, 3 miles of that was along the A1. I wouldn't do it in today's traffic.
