Injectors stuck closed. Replacements unavailable

I have a new car I'm recommissioning after it has sat for 4 years. It's a 2001 Peugeot 406 coupe V6 manual. Two of the injectors are not working. They are BOSCH 0 280 155 994 and are out of stock everywhere.

I've tried tapping them on a wooden table to try to jolt them free without success. Haven't tried powering them up and trying that again. I could send them off somewhere to get fixed - any recommendations for someone to fix them or how to fix them?

i use a guy in cardiff that will refurb literally any injector, so id imagine there are going to be people local to you that would have the kit to do it...

I know exactly where that is, it's on the entrance to an old Royal Navy armament depot (closed in 1968) that car clubs would hire for rallies around all the roads they had, I was there a couple of times a year doing rescue or recovery.

For a start stick an ohm meter across them. On SWMBO's 206 they were all about 14 ohms...or not. Then you'll know the coil in then is good.

If good try and clean as above or send for refurbishment if not.

Thanks all - that's great info. I've found a couple used ones advertised for a Citroen C5 that have the right part number. Probably quicker than having mine fixed if they work. Otherwise I'll have a few to send off in case some can't be fixed.

I have recovered a few with the ultrasonic cleaner due to stale fuel / stuck pintles.

If you see cheap brand new injectors on ebay, run away as they will be Chinese knock off junk!.

I've sent mr.injector injectors straight from buying them - then I know they work, and the engine set are within spec. Can't remember it taking too long.

I've unstuck a good few injectors on Rover V8s... you need a way to poke some DC voltage in (say less than 12V, it'll only be on for short bursts), such that you can toggle it on and off. Also a way to presurise the fuel rail (link out the pump relay etc.). If you can monitor the fuel rail pressure (easy on the RV8, take the old start injector off and plug a gauge in the hose) you can easily tell when the injector unstick itself.
Then toggle your supply on and off vigorously, while applying sharp blows to the injector body (small hammer handle, or length of brass rod if they're really reluctant). The combination of shock, electromotive force and fuel seeping past should unstick the pintle. Once the injector starts firing you'll see the pressure gauge drop for as long as you keep the DC on. If the pressure keeps dropping when you release the supply the injector is not snapping closed properly.
Move on to the next injector, re-priming the fuel rail first of course. If you just leave the pump running you'd be unlikely to see the pressure drop.

A 9v battery is ideal for holding injectors open you can leave it connected without burning out the coil, even leave it connected whilst in the ultrasonic cleaner.

Its important that they installed as a balanced/calibrated set, all six should be sent off and tested , last thing you need is a cylinder or two leaning out. I have the machine for running them up and checking calibration, wouldnt know where to start if they needed adjusting.

Don't know they're adjustable, most likely picked to be a batch of 4 or 6 within a tolerance of each other. Fine if you have a load to choose from.

That does beg the question as to why then do you have the machine?

This ^, and then if OK, put them across a 12V battery, on and off, tap and flick. Should free them off.

As @8ob said, you need all the injectors tested and matched up.
If 2 are already stuck the rest will likely to be not fully functioning either.
Many years ago I got a couple of sets of injectors refurbished.
The place I used sent you the tests before and after refurbishing.
The flow and spray pattern difference between the 2 tests were surprising, given that both sets came from engines that seemed to be running ok!

And before you ask I don't remember what company I used, it was 20 years ago!
